designed and manufactured by Manfred Kielnhofer, Austria, 2002/ 2010,
transparent and red fluorescent plexiglass, blue neon tubes, height 84
cm, width 88 cm, depth 90 cm . (DR) A unique piece out of a serie of
similar chairs. Reminiscent of American minimalist artist Dan Flavin's
fluorescent light sculptures, this unique chair literally lights up
the room. It is a composition of unique long neon lighting contained
in transparent tubes placed horizontally.

Alessandro Brentel "Visual Art" by Paolo Tieto

ENGLISH. The paintings of Alessandro Brentel, even when they mention softly at sign tracts of the traditional mold, have shapes and colors of extraordinary modernity, they are of a fresh and sunny actuality, full of youth and progressive and innovative aspects.
   There are many subjects that he likes to portray, from the flowers in their diverse range of different variety , the human figure, horses, the geometric structures and so forth, but not outlined in their peculiar traditional connotations, but caught with idealized tract, everything right in this painter, with inedited shapes, trying each time to achieve, through continuing new experimental results in different, always new goals. And all this with the help of subsidies of non-common use, such as enamels and acrylics, in addition of course to the traditional oil, sometimes lying on surfaces of canvas or hardboard, and other times plxiglas. Media on which the colors of Brentel vibrate, becoming shrill, and then buy unique power and brightness. Yes, because his works are based mainly on the colors, on the iridescences of entities, which rightly under such light, gain strength, vivacity, animation. Are reflections of glowing rubies, such as green verdure of dewy lawns and so on up to complete the whole scale in all its coloristic variety and gradations, that this enthusiastic young artist really in itself has sensitivity and extraordinary taste, when he has to give a look to his own pictorial work. And now they are really many, many at least to endorse his innate creative-sign color inclination, his talent for giving look at what the mind thinks up, his skill at using color or how many brushes and other various means he makes profit whenever it is proposed to realize a new representation.
  For a surprisingly singular world that, captivating the eye, approaches and talks to the deepest being of those who find themselves faced with




ITALIANO. I dipinti di Alessandro Brentel, ancor quando accennano sommessamente a tratti segnici di stampo tradizionale, si presentano con forme e cromie di straordinaria modernità; sono essi di una attualità fresca e solare, carica di giovinezza e di aspetti progressisti e innovativi.
   Tanti sono i temi che egli ama raffigurare, dai fiori, nella loro variegata diversissima gamma, alla figura umana, ai cavalli, alle strutture geometriche e via via di seguito, ma non delineati nelle loro connotazioni peculiari tradizionali, bensì colti con tratto idealizzato, tutto proprio di questo pittore, con sagomature inedite, cercando ogni volta di pervenire, mediante continua nuova sperimentazione, a esiti differenti, a continuamente nuovi traguardi. E tutto questo con l'aiuto di sussidi materici di non comune impiego, quali smalti e acrilici, oltre beninteso al tradizionale olio, stesi su superfici a volte di tela o di faesite e altre volte di plxiglas. Supporti su cui i colori di Brentel vibrano, diventando squillanti, acquistando quindi singolare potenza e luminosità. Sì, perchè i suoi lavori sono fondati essenzialmente sulle cromie, sulle iridescenze di entità che, giustamente, in virtù di tali luminosità acquistano forza, brio, animazione. Sono riverberi di ardenti rubini, verdi quali verzure di roridi prati e via via fino a completare l'intera scala coloristica in tutte le sue varietà e gradazioni chè questo entusiasta giovane artista ha veramente in sè gusto e sensibilità straordinari allorchè si dispone a conferire aspetto ad una propria opera pittorica. E sono esse ormai davvero numerose, tante almeno da avvallare la sua innata inclinazione alla creatività segnico-coloristica, il suo talento nel conferire aspetto a quanto escogita la mente, la sua abilità nell'uso dei colori e pennelli o di quanti altri differenti mezzi mette a profitto ogniqualvolta si propone di effettuare una nuova raffigurazione, di dare vita ad una sua nuova immagine.
   Ad un sorprendente singolare mondo che, affascinando l'occhio, si accosta e dialoga con l'essere profondo di chi vi si pone di fronte.

Festival of Lights zu Gast bem Parlament der Bäume Ben Wagin.
Die Wächter der Zeit von Manfred Kielnhofer am ehemaligen
Todesstreifen der Berliner Mauer.

Das „Parlament der Bäume" ist ein Gedenkort für die Toten an der
Berliner Mauer. Der Künstler Ben Wargin hat ihn 1990 auf dem
ehemaligen Grenzstreifen angelegt. Die Installation aus Bäumen,
Gedenksteinen, Sachzeugnissen der Grenzanlagen, Bildern und Texten ist
von verschiedenen Künstlern gestaltet worden. Auf Granitplatten sind
die Namen von 258 Mauertoten genannt. http://benwagin.de/
